Quote for the day

The thoughts that come so often unsought, and...as it were, drop into the mind, are commonly the most valuable of any we have. And therefore should be secured, because they seldom return again.

Inspiration For Sunday

This weeks inspiration is the first video in a series by Dr Wayne Dyer. It’s taken from his book Excuses Begone and is about how to think  empowering thoughts that align with your soul and destiny rather than disempowering ones. A great book incidentally.

If you’ve never come across Wayne Dyer before he’s an author and spiritual teacher who can teach us different ways to live that are more aligned with our soul than some of the ways we’ve taken on as habit.

I hope you enjoy the video and maybe even go on to watch the rest of the series. You can find the other videos on the You Tube page once you’ve watched this one.

If not, it’s my wish that you decide there are one too many excuses in your bag and decide to let go of the habit of using one.

Be kind to yourself and many blessings.

Inspiration For Sunday

This week’s Inspiration shows how our thoughts are more powerful than we realise, and how attracting what we want means spending more time focused and clear about what that is.

It’s also a reminder that we spend most of our time listening to ourselves so it’s important we are kind to ourselves.

One of the ways I remember to remember the inspiring things I read, watch, listen to and realise is by journalling about what I’ve learnt. Please feel free to email me to let me know what you realise, it could help you remember something important.

Quick Technique For Changing Your Negative Thoughts

Our thoughts aren’t us, yet most of us until we learn otherwise believe they are and behave according to random negative thoughts. It can be a painful, difficult process to realise that your stream of thinking is not who you are, it’s also something you know already so it can appear to come as no surprise when you fully realise it.

Your thoughts are important because they lead you to have certain attitudes and act out behaviours based on how you think your world is.

The technique below will help you tune into your thinking process and its thoughts clearly and easily. It works by cutting out the exterior noise which allows you to put your focus and awareness on the internal noise and voices in your mind.

Here’s what to do:

  • Firstly take a pair of soft malleable ear plugs and a note book and pen.
  • Find yourself in a place that is quiet, where you can relax, and know you won’t be disturbed.
  • When you’re comfortable with your surroundings, follow the instructions for inserting the ear plugs.
  • Now just sit and listen to the internal noise. Write down what you notice, everything is information and potentially useful, so write it down.
  • Here are some questions that can help. What do you notice about the sound of your breathing? What can you hear from your body?
  • What do you notice about your thoughts…are they louder or softer in your head now? Write what you notice about your most dominant thoughts, are they positive or negative?

Problem Solving Tool

Your journal is a tool to use to improve your life and make you feel happier. Remember that it’s to be used. If you ever feel resistance to using your journal, then it’s probably in this moment that you need to use your journal the most. I guarantee if you write through the resistance you’ll feel better.

Here’s a great technique for turning your troubles and problems around:-

Take your journal and date the page. Then write all the problems that you’ve been thinking about. You can just write one word that symbolises that problem to you. It could be problems you relate to a particular area of your life or could be related to a person or persons. Whatever it is, if it feels like a problem write it down.

Be sure to write only the problem, this is a not an exercise in looking for the solution or doing any other thinking. You might find that as you’ve written problems down, you realise that some of them aren’t actually your problem or a real problem at all. Next to these either write, “This problem isn’t mine!” or “This isn’t a problem at all!”

For now let go of those worries. You can add other problems to the list later in the week or month that follows but ensure that you date them.

Leave at least one week or more before going back to your original list. As you look at the problems you’ve dated…

7 Steps to Being Happy

“A belief which is limiting your potential such as “I can’t do it”, or “I’m no good at that…” is just a thought.

Once you repeat it and focus on it being true the Universe and your mind make it so, whether it’s true or not.

A thought repeatedly focused on becomes a belief.”

Inspiration For Sunday

Happy Sunday Morning to You!

One of the tools I use that has changed my life is Affirmations. I have many and I’m always finding or writing new great ones. I look at life like this that by using the affirmations the way I do, I’m writing the story of my life that I want, rather than one I don’t want.

So when I decide that I want to BE, DO or HAVE something new in my life, I write out what it will give me, how it will feel to BE it, to DO it, and HAVE it. This way I’m affirming what I want.

This year one of the new things I’m learning is a program called Photoshop CS5. It’s a mammoth, oceon of a computer programme and their are no limits on the possibilities open to me in the art world once I’ve cracked and become a proficient user of Photoshop.

So just there I have something I want! To lign myself up “vibrationally” which means so that my energy is high and attracts what I want, I know lots of wonderful things I will be able to do when I have cracked and learnt Photoshop. Just one of the list is illustrating and writing children’s books.

One of the important things about the Law of Attraction is that we have no control over the timing of our desires showing up, accept of course that we can delay things by focusing on what we don’t want. You knew that right?

So I have no idea when you’re going to see my children’s book on the shelves, however I do believe it’s happening NOW, I can “see” myself doing it, I do have lots of ideas of what it will look like, I know how amazing it feels, I know as I learn and study and keep the idea alive and speak and talk thoughts of being an illustrator of children’s books I will and CAN do it. Not today but one day when all the learning and studying and practising comes together, when all the daily steps join up, I will have achieved and be that person.

So there you have it a little of the energy I am vibrating when I think of Photoshop and where it’s taking me! Wow, it’s exciting stuff and I’ve committed even more of me to my dream because I’m sharing it with you now.

My advice is focus on the feelings, see who you’ll be and believe it is happening!

It’s not the money you want it’s the freedom, the experiences…it’s not the car it’s who you’ll be with the car!

It’s not Photoshop it’s the illustrator I am becoming as I learn and develop.

This week’s Inspiration for Sunday is a short clip that you can use everyday to change your vibration to one of “attracting” and not denying what you want.

It’s full of great affirmations that you can write down and use, and the music is one of my favourites. Remember to turn it up LOUD!

Thinking of you and sending you the energy needed to reach your dreams!

It Can Be A Relief To Say “I don’t know”

As we grow up we are taught that knowing everything is a good thing. Unfortunately this belief secretly limits us and causes us stress.

This is especially in the world of work, where we’re expected to know everything about our jobs, place of work, people there and how it all works. In some cases we get rewarded for the more we know.

You can become much more confident in yourself by holding a belief that not knowing is liberating. Not knowing can bring relief to you and the people around you.

Having to know everything leads us to be mind readers, so we think we know what people are thinking, feeling and saying.

Ask yourself how often you think you know what other people are thinking, feeling and saying? We can drive ourselves mad with our made up versions of what could happen based on these judgements. It can be quite enlightening to…
